About Gal Gadot
Gal Gadot-Varsano born 30 April 1985 is an Israeli actress and model. Gadot is primarily known for her role as Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe, starting with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), continuing as the lead in Wonder Woman (2017), and thereafter in the first part of the Justice League films.
Gadot was crowned Miss Israel 2004, prior to her military service in the Israel Defense Forces. She is the face of Gucci’s Bamboo perfume.
Gadot was born and raised in Rosh Haayin, Israel. In Hebrew, her first name means “wave” and her surname means “riverbanks”. She is the daughter of Irit a teacher, and Michael Gadot (Greenstein), an engineer. Both her parents were born in Israel. Her maternal grandparents were Holocaust survivors. Her ancestry is Polish-Jewish, Austrian-Jewish, German-Jewish, and Czech-Jewish. Her high school major was biology. She says that in high school she was successful at basketball due to her height. After school, she went to university, starting to study law twice at the Reichman Law School, at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya.
